Congratulations on the arrival on the new addition to your family!
Thank you so much for booking a session to welcome your new baby into the world. Getting to know you and your new baby is such a privilege! Newborn photography is my passion and I built this guide to give you some hints and tips to help prepare for the time we spend together.
What to bring to your photo session?
I like to try and make sessions personal to you. For example the Australia Zoo kangaroo was bought for baby as the parents visited while mum was pregnant.
In your own time, have a look at the photos I’ve taken or for inspiration on the internet. If you like particular colour's to match the house, or have teddies and blankets to make it more personal. please let me know at the start of the session.
When you arrive at the studio, be prepared to feed your baby if needed. We want baby to be full, content and sleepy.
We have plenty of time for sessions, We book 4 hours so that we can feed, change and cuddle your baby as much as needed to get the images required. Your baby can sense anxiety and so to keep you calm, tea coffee and soothing music will be available. We will try and get them comfortable again, but if that does not seem possible, we will take a break or may even reschedule (at my discretion and for no extra fee).
What to wear
If you are planning to have some family photos, whichi absolutely encourage. Feel free to wear a simple white or light colored top will be perfect (black works too!) Another popular colour for many families are shades of blue and grey . If there are any siblings, please bring snacks and if possible have someone (unless dad attends also) on hand to keep them company. I do my best to capture them with baby when the baby is nice and settled. Parent photos tend to take place in the last hour ish, of your session. They don't usually take this long and I try to capture you all as close as possible to capture the intimacy of these images.
